Pear Blossom

Severance of dead

limbs, through storm’s rage or strife’s blade,

forces healthy growth.

I’m not certain; it doesn’t have the branch growth pattern that most bradfords do, but the leafing and bud shape say otherwise. I suspect it might be a hybrid.

We bought this house in 2014, and have mostly had to figure out the existing landscaping from research, trial, and error. The fruit trees – two dwarf apples, an Asian plum, a cherry, and this pear – seem to serve a single purpose: dinner for the deer. (I wouldn’t mind so much if that’s all they munched on, except they ate all the blooms off my newly-planted rose bushes last summer too — pesky, greedy little hoofers!!)
