It’s the night before the night before Christmas.

Here’s a little joy – for you, from me – to add to your festivities, whatever they be.

I love the fact that you’re not shy about something that was created by Phil Spector.
The “Wall of Sound” was a very significant influence into my early musical influences, especially living in the shadow of Philly at that time (yeah…I really AM that old…lol)
Whatever kind of maniac or monster he may have been or become does not diminish his work, and since I was not there, who knows?
I still watch Woody Allen’s movies too.
Leave it to me to even think of this on “the night before the night before Christmas” but you see, I once faced a misdemeanor arrest, (which I only narrowly escaped, possibly due to the spirit of the holidays), and several years later what would have been a serious felony were it not for “the kindness of strangers”…I don’t judge, because none of it was much more than some seriously bad judgement on my part, (something for which I am all too prone) and no one was actually harmed by my actions.
(I will be more careful tonight; even though I will be going out, it will be with my wife and adult children and their s/o’s and we have no crimes and misdemeanors planned…at least yet, lol)
Thanks, F. for the “blast from the past”…it kind of brings a lump to my throat, and also gives me pause to remember, and…”govern my actions accordingly”.
    XO,
    C.V.

There are a lot of artists who are owed royalties from their work with Phil Spector but who have not ever received them, and likely never will. I am grateful to have had the exposure to their talents, however – regardless of Spector – and it’s their sounds that I revel in, especially this time of year. Darlene Love, especially. The Ronettes, The Crystals… Nobody has come close, not before and not since. They are definitely among my holiday favorites. 🙂

Be careful tonight, and enjoy your time with family. Merry Christmas! 🎅

If you press play, you’ll see my entire Christmas playlist. I made it especially for my bloggy audience, and The Ronettes are on there. Sleigh Ride is #15. There are 20 songs total. 🙂

      Merry Christmas! ⛄

Great music! Donna and I went to see her holiday show last year at BB Kings- she is amazing – and still sings like she did in the 60’s.
I hope you saw her in the movie 20 Feet From Stardom- if not download now! And happy holidays!
