Oh thank you K. I’ve just ordered a wood heater for the Oasis, and it hadn’t featured in my imaginings till now. (Though the blue wool rug on the floor had)… I love the light and the subtle details which take a little time to decipher…

I’m a fan of fireplaces of all varieties. I didn’t use any flash on this photo, just tried to get the flames and capture the glint of the metal.
I lost my virginity by firelight.
I have since found that the ladies are susceptible to firelight too.
I have never bought (and doubt that I ever will buy) a house without a wood burning fireplace.
There is something alluring about flames, I think. (And rekindling old ones.) 🙂
