Fe-Lion

nude woman reclining in streak of sunlight

When a streak of sunlight falls through a window, I am drawn to it.  Catlike, I sprawl – stretching, curling, cuddling up in the beam of heat – soaking in the rejuvenating warmth, no matter the temperature of the season.

I sigh, I smile.
I purr.

But do not be fooled into thinking my relaxed countenance is indicative of tameness.  A pussycat, I am not.

Feline?  Perhaps.

Fe-Lion.

I have the mane.
The teeth and claws.
The forceful paws.

All that’s missing…

…is the tail.

(Or is it?)  😉

Sinful Sunday

My comment has nothing to do with this particular piece, but a comment on a piece you posted in a reply to “Molly”s Daily Kiss” about the “Courage of convictions.” I grew up with a mother much like his. Her needs, her desires, her wants always came first. It did not matter what the consequences to the Family were. I lost track of the number of times my siblings and I heard: “The children will be fine.” When we were old enough to leave that house every one of us did and no one ever came back because the children “weren’t fine” Thank you for speaking up

      Thank you for sharing.

My husband is the fifth of seven children, the youngest of the group from his mother’s first marriage, and the only boy. All of his older sisters left home before the age of 18 and made their own ways. My husband left at 17.

None of the first five hold grudges against their mother for her complete lack of care, guidance, and protection.

      I do.

‘Decadent’ is the perfect word for it, yes! I soak up the warmth any way I can, which often means I’ll sprawl out on the floor with my cat, just to feel the splash of light on my skin. 🙂
