. . . of light and form . . .
NOTE: The photography prompt for the first Sinful Sunday in December was ‘bokeh’. Bokeh – a Japanese word meaning ‘blur’ – is the blurred/out-of-focus rendering of light in an image, often appearing as multiple circular illuminations.
The bokeh in this photo (most prominent at the bottom left) is the result of flickering candlelight, a little bit of luck, and an appropriately angled lens.
No filters, no effects.
Other than slightly upping the color saturation to make my window reflection more visible, this image is unedited. It is presented here exactly as it came out of my camera. 🙂
This is fantasic. You have nailed the prompt and I love the little glimpse of your reflection.
Thank you! I was really delighted that the lens interpreted the candlelight the way I’d hoped. 🙂
Oh yes stunning the candles have worked so well in this image
Thanks! 🙂
British bloggers often use the term ‘chuffed’. Up til now, I’ve always equated that with the “cough-pfffgh!” sound a horse makes when it expels a huffy breath. But that’s pretty much the sound I made when I saw what came out of my camera. So…
I’m chuffed at how it turned out. 😉
Mirror mirror on the wall ….
Hmmm… Well, “Snow White” does fit my skin tone. 😉
This is beautiful and cleverly implemented xx
Thank you. 🙂
Isn’t it wonderful when it comes off the camera just the way you want it? Love your image!

PS: And your chuffed-explanation made me laugh!
Thanks! And yes, I was pleasantly surprised. 🙂
Lovely reflection!
Thanks. 🙂 I got a few good ones out of this session; perhaps I will post more later on. February Photo Fest will be coming up soon…!
This is so good. I am in awe of the achievements of those whose use of filters in non-existent and editing is minimal, or not needed. I love the use of candlelight too and of course the reflection we get to see is a delight 🙂 x
I like filters and photo layering; they are fun to use and can create (or amplify) some stunning effects!
There are a couple “mistakes” I’ve made with light (lens flares, anyone? or overexposure…) often enough when I’m not meaning to, that when Molly said “bokeh,” I just thought, “Oh! I know how to make that mistake!” 😉
A splendid image Mrs Fever with lots of interest. Including the bokeh which is brill.
Gracias. 🙂
Very beautiful image x
Thanks. 🙂
Fabulous and love how you are a ghostly figure
Mollyx
I hadn’t thought about it being ghostly, but I think you’re right; perhaps it’s something in the wavering-ness of the reflection.
Speaking of interpretations, I love your version of Bokeh. 🙂
Thanks! 🙂
This is brilliant, I think you should be chuffed!
🙂
