A celebratory seasonal soundtrack for your weekend festivities, whatever they may be.
For you, from me.
You can click the upper left hand corner to see a drop-down list of included songs.
And if you want a little more auditory revelry, you can listen to last year’s list here.
Excellent record, a classic for a reason. Includes my fave Christmas record, the Ronettes Sleigh Ride.
The lead song, do you mean?
I’m a fan of Darlene Love. Really like the Ronettes as well. And the Crystals’ version of March of the Wooden Soldiers.
All those acts were served a pretty crap hand by Phil Spector, which must be acknowledged. I love the music they created though, the “wall of sound” and the so-’60s group harmonies.
Gwen Stefani, Tom Petty, and the wall of sound ? Oh MY ! 🙂
I knew if anyone actually *looked* at this list, it would be you. 🙂 Enjoy!
Thanks for the Counting Crows and Tom Petty of course.
Embarrassed to say I don’t really know any of the others.
Here’s a couple more you all and you in particular Feve might enjoy listening to: Steve Earle. Christmas in Washington. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qbi2rMQveHo and Aussie Paul Kelly. Christmas Gravy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XTm1iNbGuMc. The two of them are great storytellers and recently performed together in Australia.
Happy Xmas,
Indie xx

Many of my musical selections are not found on popular radio, and that includes my tastes in Christmas music. So no worries on not knowing some of the songs; many of these will be new to most folks. 🙂
I included Kylie Minogue on last year’s festal music list; most US readers aren’t familiar with her Christmas album, but as she is Australian, you may be.
Thanks for sharing your selections. I will give them a listen shortly.
Merry Christmas! 🎅
