DOUBLE FUDGE BROWNIES
1/4 cup water
2/3 cup butter or margarine
1.5 cups sugar
2 cups (1 package) semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 tsp vanilla
4 eggs
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1.5 cups flour
Directions: In a large sauce pan over low heat, melt butter into water, then add sugar. Stir and bring *just* to a boil. Melt in one package of chocolate chips and remove from heat. Add vanilla. Beat in 4 eggs, one at a time. Stir in soda, salt, and flour. Bake in a 9×13″ cake pan at 325 degrees (Farenheit) for 50 minutes, or until a knife inserted through the center comes out clean.
Alternate Preparation: Arthur’s Measure-for-Measure gluten-free flour works great in this recipe.
Servings: Makes 20 medium-ish brownies (approx. 230 calories each) or 16 hefty ones (approx. 290 calories each). Or, if you’re like my husband and you think that a whole pan equates a single serving…
…let’s just say I hope you consider your diet when you make your 2019 New Year’s resolutions.

This looks fabulous and sounds delicious. I know Sir would love this – and possibly consider the pan a serving too! Thanks for sharing it!!

They are a tempting enough treat that the ‘pan perspective’ can be contagious! 🙂
I’m not gonna lie… I’m in the “pan as serving” camp myself. (Well, ok, maybe not a 9×13, but if this were in an 8×8, all bets would be off!)
I love brownies – and this looks like a keeper of a recipe!
Thanks for playing along. 🙂
You might get away with two 8×8 pans on this recipe, if you don’t mind a bit thinner brownies. 🙂 It’d be less baking time, and net you one whole pan to yourself! 😉
You are A Thinking Woman!
(I like that about you! ;-p)
Yum! I probably should have eaten breakfast before viewing this… 🙂
Hahaha! 🙂 Well, I just had a brownie for breakfast. 😉
That’s a good breakfast in my book.!
I too am in the pan as single serving camp. Brownies are the sweets equivalent of the little black dress. You can’t go wrong with brownies.
Oh, that’s a great analogy! 😀
Hi Mrs. Fever! 🙂 Cannot believe that it is this time of year again! Always fun!
Your brownie recipe looks super! I will give this a try when all of the kids come home for the holidays. I have a feeling that they won’t last long. Happy Holidays! Many hugs,
❤️Katie xoxo

Our resident taste testers confirm: “Yum!” And then: “Well, we need to be absolutely SURE of the yum, so perhaps we’ll try just one more…” 😉
Mrs Fever your brownie recipe looks so good. I will have to keep that one. Also add you to my blog roll.
Thank you for sharing.
Hugs Lindy xx
They are very tasty! 🙂
Thanks for visiting.
Chocky is always very sexy, so it’s hard to argue with a pan full of those !
Right?!
(The only argument here is over who gets to eat the last one! 😛 😉 )
Mrs Fever. Thanks for sharing your recipe. These sound so yummy. I will have to try it, but the only problem, I’d probably eat the lot myself.
Love,
Ronnie

Haha! Well, those are the risks we take… 😉
I love it went you do your recipe posts! These look yummy. My man is the cook so will get him to check it out 😉
I started baking these when I was quite young. They’re very easy to make and even easier to eat. 😉
