Reminiscences: Musings in Memoir — Closing Prompt (OPEN)

CLOSING PROMPT — OPEN

THANK YOU to all who have participated in the Reminiscences summer writing project!

Rather than provide a ‘last’ prompt and close the Reminiscences project down, I’ve decided that the final prompt will be open.

Open-ended, and just plain open — for as long as anyone wants to post. 🙂

Write whatever you want, whenever you want, in memoir/memory form and add your post below using the Comment Luv app found in the comment form to create a live link to your post. Feel free to approach the concept of ‘open’ in any way you choose; if the word itself sparks memories for you, great! If you want to go your own direction or you want to revisit one of the previous prompts, that’s great too. And if you have been inspired by others’ writing during this time and it has prompted you to take your own writing in a new direction, feel free to link up those kinds of posts as well.

.

The point of this writing project is to create new content by writing from your personal memories, with a focus on the form of memoir. For those of you who are new here, or who might have missed it but want to participate, this is how it works:

.

To Play:

  1. Write a memoir-esque post.
  2. Link your post either to this prompt or to the Reminiscences project description page. (Use of the badge is optional.)
  3. Leave a comment below – you can use CommentLuv to create a live link to your post on my comment form – to let me know you’re playing.

.

If you’re not sure how to start or are unsure of how to approach your memoir writing, I encourage you to visit the bloggers who participated in writing for the previous prompt for inspiration:

Thanks also to Polly Cullen, who added her ‘animal’ memory to Prompt #8.

.

If you participated in the previous prompt (or revisited any of the ones prior) over the past ten days but do not see your name above, it means I do not have your link. Please leave me one and I will add your post! 🙂

For more information about the Reminiscences project, please see here.

If you have any questions, let me know!

I will keep a running list of newly-added OPEN Reminiscences posts (starting 08/10/2020) below:

Oh goodness, I have missed these, lots of lovely reading to catch up on I’ll bet. With your ‘open’ prompt idea, maybe I can link up with a post or two – thanks for ‘mixing things up’ Mrs Fever. x

I am so glad you are keeping this open as the memories I have written have sparked some more, and I want to write all of them, and probably more! Links to follow as the posts go live 🙂
