It’s something I once eliminated from my diet.
I banned coffee, more or less, for a looong time.
And then I succumbed.
.
It’s the only ‘habit’ I have.
As vices go, it’s not that bad.
And as mornings go: With coffee, they’re not that bad either. 😉
.
I hope you are all having a good morning, lovelies.
And if you’re so inclined: Take an extra Saturday sip for me.
🙂
Tongue-in-cheek title borrowed from the Vanilla Ice song (which totally rips off the Queen-collaborated Bowie riff), Ice, Ice Baby.
Which, just like this post, has very little point.
But this post *is* part of my September Song Project. Which, like the month itself, is rapidly coming to a close.

And if you just want to bask in your coffee morning glow, perhaps take a taste of this smooth Venti drip:
I’ll take a few sips for you, Mrs. Feve! Unless my doctor told me that if I didn’t give up coffee I was gonna croak, I’m not giving it up – ever. Ahh… it tastes so good!
Haha! I hear you. 😉
Hold up – my cup is empty? Did you have something to do with that, hmm?
*looks around innocently*
Oh coffee! I drink too much wine. But I could stop. Now and then I have chocolate or cake. But I could stop. I could never stop that morning coffee. So many reasons why. But it works for me
May x
Chocolate… It’s one of the things I thought I’d miss terribly (I mostly gave it up due to migraines), but as it turns out I barely notice its absence.
Coffee though…
Nope. *laugh*
Can’t live without coffee.
I have never successfully given up coffee for more than 2 weeks.
I have given up trying.
After all, life holds few enough pleasures, right? 🙂

At this point, I just accept that coffee is my addiction. It’s an expensive one, but it’s worth it.
Ooooh! That morning vice. Hot and steamy. The heady scent as your nose zeroes in. The warmth as your lips lightly suck on the rim, as your tongue flicks out for the first taste of the nectar of the gods.
Oh! Oh! Oh! Sorry! I got a little distracted, Where were we? Yes, that’s right, coffee!
There are just so many flavours and styles, from bland instant, the bitter, the smooth rounded full flavour, to the robust exotic espresso. A bit like women and sex really!
My preference is the smooth, well rounded, full flavoured style (coffee that is, although come to think of it, that’s my preferred style of woman too). But by my 4th cup (after lunch), I really need to switch to a nice tea as a palette cleanser, a medium Ceylon style, then by late afternoon, it’s time for Earl Grey. If I’ve been dining out with wine, then after dinner, a short black espresso tops off the day. Thirty years ago, that would be sufficient stimulus for the night ahead, but these days, it is enough to keep me awake to drive home.

I don’t have the tolerance for quite that much caffeine. I’d be jittery and bouncing off the walls. Lol.
I *do* like my morning latte though. It just makes facing the day so much more tolerable.
