The last few months of this year have been a blur of days. The end of September, during which wildfires choked and hazed, brought with it the beginning of a new health concern for my husband, and in between trying to decipher just what it was we needed to combat for him (while personally pushing ever harder through chronic and worsening migraine pain) left me – by the end of October – in a constant fog of “What day even is it?”
Combined with the off-kilter holiday blitz-shopping (*so* not my usual style; I’m very much a get-gifts-as-you-find-them-through-the-year kind of Christmas shopper, but was unable to shop that way this year — because COVID, obviously) that had to be done in early October (along with trick-or-treat candy shopping at the same time and also QUICK! Get mom’s birthday present while the store is actually open, because it’s gonna shut down again, youknowitwill), with Christmas gifts wrapped and boxed and mailed to family before we even got to Thanksgiving…
I’m kinda like, “Wait… Which holiday are we on again? This is Christmas?”
Also: No baking bloggery this year.
No baking at all really… Though I did toss together some no-bakes. Because, needs must.
I kind of just… didn’t remember to bake, really. (Though ‘the Covid 19’ was a thing for me, and I really don’t want to lose the traction I’ve gained there, so: NO. No baking.)
Somehow, though, I remembered to take some photos halfway through the holiday confuzery.
I just didn’t remember to post any. *laugh*
So I’m remedying that. First, with the Halloween stripey-sock fabulousness above. (No, I don’t care that today is Christmas; I’m posting Halloween-ery.)
And second, with the previously-mentioned threat idea I shared about showing off my sartorial silliness in terms of Christmas sweater fantabulous-ness. As below:
&
In the words of John Lennon (who was actually quite an asshole, but whatever):
And so this is Christmas
(And Feve responds, “Wait… It is?!?”)
This is Christmas.
(It is.)
But in case you’ve been as discombobulated by the celebratory confuzzlement this year as I was (or just prefer to do Festivus For The Rest Of Us), I’ll just cover it all with:
HAPPY HalloThanksMAS
&
MERRY ChristmaHanuKwanzYEAR
It really has been the weirdest year for time – 2020 managed to simultaneously drag, fly, and blur.
I don’t get it and I’m not at all sure I enjoy it, altho’ it could have been so much worse that I’m trying not to grump.
But I’m ready for a more normal chaos, whenever you’re ready, Universe!
In the meantime, Happy All The Holidays to you!
Jz recently posted…Love and Joy Unto You
“Normal chaos” sounds almost soothing at this point. *laugh*
I usually stroll and pick up presents that strike me as being suitable for so and so too but this year i had to actually browse shopping sites to see if anything caught my eye. The problem is that most sites work best with an actual search. So i typed in a few letters and randomly clicked on suggestions lol. It didn’t turn out too badly.
Love the socks and love that snowflake (?) ring! I love all sweaters because i live on the equator and would love to have an actual reason to OWN a sweater.
I hope you had a lovely (if different) Christmas and here’s wishing EVERYONE a better 2021 than this wretched year has been. HAPPY HalloThanksMAS & MERRY ChristmaHanuKwanzYEAR to you too!
Perhaps Christmas t-shirts instead for you? I have one you might like; it has Rudolph on it. ๐
And yes, that ring is a snowflake. The picture is a bit blurry so it’s hard to tell. But: SPARKLES! Lol. (What can I say? I’m easily distracted by shiny things. ๐ )
I’m wearing a sweater today! The weather got freaky cold cos of a monsoon off hongkong i think… not MAD winter cold, but 21 degrees celcius. so it’s cool enough to be sitting in the house with a sweater on. And it’s been raining for 2 straight days without stopping. Real feel – 17 degrees. Heh.
Fun! I love wearing warm cozies when it’s cool outside. ๐
Merry Christmas, Feve, love red your sweater, and you in it.
Penguins make me happy. ๐
Merry Christmas!
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas, Feve ๐

It was lovely, thank you.
Great Christmas sweaters, and lovely Halloween socks!! Stay safe Mrs Fever!
Thanks. ๐
I was given new silly socks as a Christmas gift, so I expect they might be making an appearance here soon too. ๐
Well it is said that silly socks make the world go round…
