The Scarily Sexy Season Is Here

Autumn is upon us!

For many of us in the northern hemisphere, that means bundling up against the chill that bookends the ever-shortening days. (Read: Boot Season, for the fashionably inclined. 😉 ) It means twilight and fog, rainy days and changing leaves, chill damp dew and cold-clear sun; it’s the end of harvest season, and – alongside those gathering-in celebrations – a time of tricky treat-ery.

So in the spirit of Halloween (heh – get it?), I’ve culled a few of my fright-y favorites from the blogs I follow to bring you a selection of scarily sexy stories.

So without further ado, here are some recommended reads for you (titles are linked) this spooktacular season:

I love my husband so much it makes me throw up in my mouth.

No, regardless of the ‘love’ mixed with ‘throw up’ bit in the title, this post is not about gag reflex related to oral sex. I have a bit of the former, but it does not relate to the latter. And the closest I’ve come to performing oral sex recently was when I’d just eaten hot salsa and wanted to test whether the post-eating hot tingles in my mouth would transfer to his skin. So I said – as you do – “Hon, I need to borrow your penis for a minute.” And he obliged. And then, 30 seconds later, I popped my lips off his tip and was like, “Did you feel the hotness?” And he was like, “Drfffgh…,” which translates to “No, I couldn’t tell you had eaten anything spicy but your mouth was hot and you’re welcome to put it on that part of my anatomy any time you like.”

But no, this post is not about any of that.

It’s about the things we do for love.

And, FAIR WARNING: This post is not sexy. And for some of you, this content might be a bit manky. I mean, it makes me throw up. What’s it gonna do to you? You might want to consider that before you read on.

Thank You For The Music

To all of you who participated in my Music As Muse September Song Project:

THANK YOU!

I was blown away by the number of people who chose to participate, and wonderfully impressed with the variety of content participants produced. People shared their perspectives on everything from mental health coping strategies to dog-walking adventures, from relationship frustrations to fantasies that fuel masturbation, and everything imaginable in-between. Your creativity, vulnerability, humor, passion, joy, and grit all came through crystal clearly.

To borrow from a lovely comment on one participant’s blog: Music is like a bookend for memories. Thank you for sharing bits and pieces of your life last month through the music that inspires you, and creating such a lovely memory out of this meme for me!

In the event you missed it: You can click the badge above to see what it’s about and find links to people who participated, and/or you can click here to see my own musical musings.

If you wrote for the project but have not yet received a visit from me, it means I don’t have your link{s}. Please leave one (or more!) for me on the project main page or in the comments section below.

And, in keeping with the theme, this Project Finale is titled after ABBA’s Thank You For The Music.

Blue Skies

Blue skies
Smiling at me
Nothing but blue skies
Do I see

The skies are mostly gray ahead, the dark layers of clouds obscuring all light. But when I look out the passenger side window to my right, there is a swath of blue broken only by a misshapen cumulus mass that looks remarkably like…

“A penis,” I say.

Not expecting to hear my voice over the hum of the engine filling the car’s cabin, my husband – heretofore mesmerized by the road – starts momentarily.

Then, when he realizes just exactly what it is I’ve said, he startles into surprised response.

“Ermphg… What?!” he sputters.
