for the April A-to-Z Blogging Challenge: letter W

My theme for this year’s challenge is Music as Muse.

(Louis Armstrong mentions roses in the lyrics — trees of green and red roses too — but I figured I’d go with tulips.)

(‘Cause that’s how I roll.)

These photos were all taken in my own yard.

Kindly ignore the weeds. They are a work in progress.

Tulips really are beautiful flowers, and I love that you have them in your garden. If I think of a song that goes with tulips, I always think of one of my old time favorites – Tulips for Toinette – and then the version by Gene Rockwell, who was one of the singers I grew up with 🙂

I had to look up that song — I’d never heard it before.

The only “tulips” song that comes immediately to mind is Tiptoe Through The Tulips, which…

Well, it doesn’t exactly coincide with the concept of “lovely.” *laugh*

I was thinking of the annoying “Tip Toe through the Tulips” song, too! GAH!

However, I love the song you chose. WAWW is a good one to have stuck in one’s head.

Pretty Tulips here! Oh and my funny guy who said “two in the bush” has also referred to that area as my Two-lips and he’d be happy to tip toe through there all right!!

I am wondering what song you’re going to pick for X ……. I won’t say what one I am thinking of yet though. 🙂

P.S. I don’t think your email notifications for post comments are working for me throughout the second half of the A to Z Challenge. ???

      Oh weird…

To clarify: Are you clicking the little box for getting email notifications when someone replies to your comment? And that’s not working?

I had tiptoe thru the tulips. But the song you picked was much better. I like it very much. And the flowers are beautiful. I can’t grow anything. Like not a single green thumb cell in my body at all!

Luckily, tulips are bulbs. So as long as the moles don’t eat the bulbs for dinner, they will come up without any assistance from me! 🙂

Lovely images, the earliest flowers in the spring are the most cheering I think, because we are so hungry to see colour and growth.

Beautiful song, I’ve always loved it and (as a big Louis Armstrong fan and a lover of the great outdoors) it was to have been played at my father’s memorial … if lockdown had not put an end to that happening. Ah well, I shall forever think of him in association with it, so that’s still a boon.

I need to catch up on your A-Z through music – it’s a pleasure deferred.

I’m sorry — loss of a loved one is difficult in the best of times; with the restrictions imposed over the past year that impede the expulsion of grief and the closure families need, it has been unbearable for many.

This is a beautiful song. I hope it will encourage your happiest memories of your father to continue to bloom.

I saw the title and though of Louis Armstrong’s big beautiful smile! What a fabulous song—and then you had to bring Tiny Tim into it… ugh! lol Enjoy the spring weather!
