Two Tickets To Paradise

It’s something we’ve wanted to do for a long time but have been unable to, primarily due to my husband’s health unsurety.

BUT

Now all that What if… and When will… and Oh, well we *could* except… business is done with.

He passed his three-month post-transplant check-up with flying colors.

Less than a week later I’d booked us on a cruise for this coming spring.

We’re going to Hawaii!

In case you missed it, I’m gonna say it again:

We’re going to HAWAII !!!

I, of course, being me, am just ridiculously excited to finally – FINALLY – be looking forward (for real, with dates on the calendar and tickets reserved) to *actually* being able to do something that we’ve planned/wanted/talked-about doing for years.

He – being, y’know, him – is just happy we’ll be going someplace warm. Because now that I’m peri-menopausal and such, I tend to be cold most of the time (and chilly-ness does NOT lead me to feeling amorous) BUT, as we discovered on our July vacation, I un-thaw a bit (more than a bit, really) in the Sex Department when I’m surrounded by warmth and sunshine.

So I’m like: Yay, Hawaii!

And he’s like: Oooh, maybe I’ll get laid!

(Well, at the very least, I’ll make sure he gets lei’ed.) πŸ˜›

The six-month countdown to cruise time has begun…

We love it too. We took a cruise for our honeymoon and got hooked on it together. We’ve been to Mexico (both coasts), the Western Carribean, and to Alaska twice. Hawaii will be new for us. It’ll also be an endurance test of sorts — 18 days! We’re looking forward to it.

There is a level of freedom in wellness that people who’ve never experienced long-term illness do not understand. It’s quite astounding, really, this weight that’s been lifted.

Yes, it’s really good news! He’s basically free from all his post-surgery restrictions, so things are much more ‘back-to-normal’ on a day-to-day basis. πŸ™‚
